If you meet some of the following requirements, you are eligible to receive therapy under Medicare Part B. Medicare Part B will cover PT , OT and ST services in your home under the following conditions:

• You were recently discharged from a hospital stay, you have completed Part A therapy in the home, but still have not reached your pre-morbid or prior level of functional independence.

• You have had a fall or at risk of falling.

• You do not have to be “homebound”.

• You have functional impairments or significant decline in your activities of daily living

• Your acute illness or the medical management of your chronic condition is resolved or improved; however, your functional decline is not being managed

• You have a “flare-up” of a chronic diagnosis e.g low back pain or osteoarthritis that significantly affects function and requires a skilled therapist

• Any progressive degenerative condition such as Parkinson’s disease which often requires intermittent therapy services.
